Editorial Rule
To qualify for inclusion in the B&C there is only one rule - something described must have been said to have happened.
The authority is the Editor, British Army Review No 114 Dec 96, `If the facts don`t fit the legend, print the legend’.

However, the rules of good taste, respect and confidentiality are always applied.

BILL DACK
It is with much sadness that we report the sudden death of our loyal member Bill Dack in Oct 2006. Click here for his obituary. Bill played the Bn solid silver bugle when Field Marshall Aukinleck visited the 2nd Bn at Victoria Barracks, Rawalpindi in 1946.

HENRY 'HARRY' STOKES
Stephen Stokes wrote: ‘My father, 14856803
Henry 'Harry' Stokes, served in the R Norfolk Regt and returned to England on the MV Georgic in 1947. Now 80 and living in Alton, Hampshire he was very interested to hear of the Georgic information on your site Index. On reading to him some of the names listed as being at the 2005 reunion (Cyril Beardshaw, Leslie Blunden, Stan Boggiss, Lou Dale, Chris Frost, Ron Henry, Keith Lovell, John Pacey, Ian Page, Ron Pelster, Ron Phelps, Leslie Preston, Stan Rasberry, Arthur Richardson, Bob Self, Gordon Spong, Peter Stevens, Ron Stokoe and Jack Stokoe), he still remembers some of these attendees. Is it possible he can be put in touch with any of these comrades who remember him. Although he is a now a double amputee, I am sure I could help him to attend any further reunions. I look forward to receiving any information, particularly dates of further reunions which I can pass on to him.’
[This was done. Stephen and Harry had hoped to be at the 11 Aug 07 Reunion at the Union Jack Club. When Ron Stokoe last spoke to Harry, he was very excited about meeting up with the other ‘Georgics’. Sadly, Harry died on 8 Apr 07. Click here for his obituary . Ed.]
