Regimental Museum Our flagship Regimental Museum at The Shirehall was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, our late Colonel In Chief. It was relocated from Britannia Barracks after the late Maj David Jamieson VC CVO spearheaded a successful public appeal.
Anyone who can spare time to assist with the cataloguing of the extensive museum archives is invited to contact Kate Thaxton 01603 223649

During the Easter holiday, the Norfolk Editor took his 2 young granddaughters, Olivia 7 and Imogen 4, to the Castle Museum. Imogen didn't like the dungeons and Olivia hated the Eqyptian mummies !
We descended the steep and dark stone spiral staircase then entered the tunnel to the R Nfk Regtl Museum with a mock-up of WW1 trenches. Janine and I knew what to expect so we kept close to the girls as the loud roar of an aircraft and machine-gun fire frightened them.
An Easter inspiration was to have children spot the tiny yellow chicks in the showcases ! They found and listed all but one but clues from the reception desk gained them their reward of a chocolate egg.
If you haven’t been to the museum, do go!

Editorial Rule
To qualify for inclusion in the B&C there is only one rule - something described must have been said to have happened.
The authority is the Editor, British Army Review No 114 Dec 96, `If the facts don`t fit the legend, print the legend’.

However, the rules of good taste, respect and confidentiality are always applied.

Rule Britannia!
