NORFOLKS IN SHANGHAI & INDIA 1928 - 1934
Fred Burton of Epping, Essex, 97 on 21 Sep 05, is the oldest known B&C subscriber. Fred joined the Regt in Apr 1928 and served in Shanghai and in India, where he was the champion runner of the Bn.
He was discharged in 1944 and joined the London Branch.
B&C 101 Dec 03 carried a Shanghai photograph, right, sent by the late
Alfred Smith (decd Jun 2003), titled ‘Bn entering Shanghai in 1928 - officer with pipe!’ Fred identified the officer as Capt Bob Scott, C Coy.

Editorial Rule
